Thomas (Tom) W. Guffey, L.S.

Guffey Warner & Associates was formed in June 2005 by Thomas W. Guffey, L.S. and Trent J. Warner, P.E. to provide engineering and surveying services for local development and government. Our expertise is the design and development of construction plans for both private and municipal projects. This company was created to be a small firm that provides many of the same services as larger firms. At the same time, we also work with larger firms to provide support or ask for assistance in more specialized parts of projects. These fundamentals allow us to keep communications open with larger companies so that we can share experiences while keeping our overhead costs down for the smaller local developer that also needs assistance.

Trent J. Warner, P.E.

Trent J. Warner - Vice President

Mr. Warner received his B.S. in Civil Engineering from Virginia Military Institute in 1992. He became a licensed professional engineer in the State of Virginia in 1997. He has 16 years of experience in the design of roadways, site development, environmental and drainage facilities. He has thorough background in the development of site designs and site utilities as they apply to residential, commercial, and industrialized areas.

Thomas W. Guffey - President

Mr. Guffey’s experience in land surveying began in 1965. His survey experience started in the Tidewater area and offered a vast amount of experience in hydrological surveying as well as site development, boundary work, and engineering surveying for highways and municipal infrastructure. Tom became a licensed surveyor in the State of Virginia in 1976.

During the 40 years that he has practiced in the field of land surveying, he has seen many changes in technology related to this profession. He has been a leader with the introduction of new technology associated with electronic data collection, electronic total stations, Global Positioning Surveys and Robotics. This knowledge and experience has provided us with the capability and confidence necessary to provide services on projects requiring expertise in any aspect of land surveying and site development.
